Join us for an unforgettable weekend as we present a production of the epic musical Ragtime. This extraordinary event brings together talented performers from across the Capital Region alongside professional performers from Broadway, regional theaters, and local stages.

Experience the sweeping power of this landmark American musical as our cast brings to life the intersecting stories of three families - one Black, one white, and one immigrant - at the turn of the 20th century. Ragtime is a bold, emotionally charged exploration of hope, injustice, and the pursuit of the American Dream, told through richly layered storytelling and unforgettable music.


Featuring breathtaking musical numbers including “Wheels of a Dream,” “Make Them Hear You,” and “Till We Reach That Day,” this concert production promises a stirring and deeply moving theatrical experience - one that resonates as powerfully today as ever.

 BRADY WALSH (TATEH) is a multi-disciplinary teacher, creator, and arts leader. He is the Artistic Director of Carpe Diem Theater, overseeing all productions and pre-professional training. He spent the better part of a decade as the Associate Director of the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition, evaluating singers across the country a

 BRADY WALSH (TATEH) is a multi-disciplinary teacher, creator, and arts leader. He is the Artistic Director of Carpe Diem Theater, overseeing all productions and pre-professional training. Brady now runs a private voice studio, BTW Voice, comprising 40+ high school and college students, young professionals, and adults between New York's Capital Region and New York City. GORDON HORNE-OTTEN (FATHER) is originally from Scotland and feels a deep personal connection to Ragtime's themes of immigration, identity, and belonging. He is honored to help tell a story that celebrates the courage and resilience of those who leave one home in search of another, especially in this special celebratory year!  He was most 

GORDON HORNE-OTTEN (FATHER) is originally from Scotland and feels a deep personal connection to Ragtime's themes of immigration, identity, and belonging. WEMITT* (EMMA GOLDMAN) is honored to be given the opportunity to play this iconic role in RAGTIME.  A Broadway veteran, Monica made her debut as Ernestina in the 1995 revival of Hello, Dolly! starring Carol Channing where she also served as Channing’s standby.  She later appeared in Disney’s touring production of Disney’s Beauty

MONICA M. WEMITT* (EMMA GOLDMAN) is honored to be given the opportunity to play this iconic role in RAGTIME.  A Broadway veteran, Monica made her debut as Ernestina in the 1995 revival of Hello, Dolly! starring Carol Channing where she also served as Channing’s standby.  She later appeared in Disney’s touring production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as Madame de la Grande Bouche.  Beyond Broadway Monica was one of only twelve women selected to perform in Liza Stepping Out.  You may have seen Moncia gracing the stage as Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music and as Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! at Yorktown Player.  Monica recently played Miss Hannigan in Annie at the Mac-Haydn Theatre for which she won the Berkshire Theatre Critics Award for best supporting actress in a musical.  Special thanks to Andrew, Spates, Gabe and to you, the audience, for continuing to support live theatre.  Enjoy the show!

LAUREN SCHIRNHOFER (EVELYN NESBIT) is an actor, singer, and teaching artist who has performed and taught throughout the U.S. and internationally, from Europe to South America. LORENZO TETA (THE LITTLE BOY 10/10) is excited to be performing in Ragtime alongside such a talented cast and crew. As a 6th grader, he enjoys school and spending time with his classmates, friends, and family.  Since beginning his theatre journey in 2024, Lorenzo has developed a true passion for performing. His favorite roles have included Alexei Romanov in Anastasia with HIGGS Theatricals, Lord Farquaad in Shrek Jr., Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, and, most recently, Bruce in Matilda Jr. The Musical. He has also appeared as The Wizard/Professor Marvel in The Wizard of Oz and performed multiple roles in Beetlejuice.  When he’s not on stage, Lorenzo enjoys playing baseball, fishing, and traveling with his family—especially to Walt Disney World and Cape May, New Jersey. He is grateful for the love and encouragement of his family, friends, and voice coach, Lisa Franklin, and hopes you enjoy the show!

 ABIGAIL RAVALLI (THE LITTLE GIRL 10/11) is so excited to be making her Higgs Theatricals debut. She knew after watching Anastasia last year, she knew that wanted to be apart of future shows.  Previously, Abbie has been seen in Oliver! (Carpe Diem Theater), The Wizard of Oz (Galway Players), Willy Wonka Kids (Carpe Diem Theater), The Lion King (Galway Players), Finding Nemo Kids (Carpe Diem Theater) and Frozen Kids (Carpe Diem Theater).  Abbie also had the honor of singing The National Anthem at BHBL’s Follies, and being a performer at The Carpe Diem Season Kick Off Gala.  She will be a fifth grader in the fall at Pashley Elementary.  In her free time, she loves singing, dancing and playing with her dog, Neville.  Abbie would like to thank her parents, sister, Andrew, Gabe, Emily and Brady Walsh!

Anastasia with Higgs Theatricals was Tegan’s favorite production ever as she was able to share the stage with Lisa Franklin, her voice teacher and she cannot wait to work with Andrew, again! Tegan is a fifth grader at Albany Academy and loves school, especially math and science. Other local appearances include performing at Capital Repertory Theatre, Mac-Haydn Theatre and Home Made Theater. Tegan started her acting career at age 5 with a national Play-Doh commercial and has been featured in various commercials and short films.

He has appeared in other shows locally such as; THE LAST STRAW, A FINE FAMILY, WEB and ENTER LAUGHING. He portrayed (Edmund Hack), a firefighter in the great historical venue of Amazing Graves. Daryl has been sharing his talents by portraying a variety of characters for Yankee Trails Santa's Magical Express, the Grinch for Quick Response, related to his great adventure of performing characters at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. She has also studied acting in the city at Circle in the Square Theater School. It was at Oneonta where she

She started her theater career in high school as a  Dynamite (Hairspray) and went on to receive a B.S. in Theater from SUNY Oneonta. She has also studied acting in the city at Circle in the Square Theater School. It was at Oneonta where she found her love for directing. A professor of hers suggested she enter a competition to have the school fund a show for her to direct. She didn’t know it then- but she was about to embark on a journey that would lead her to not only work professionally as a Stage Manager & Actor, but to teach theater to all ages (3 through adult) before finally ending up here. She hopes to go on to get her Masters in both education and directing and open up her own theater/community center in the future. She hopes you enjoy the show!

He is a 2019 recipient of a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement. He also received the Dramatists Guild Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lu

He won four Tony Awards for his plays Love! Valour! Compassion! and Master Class and his musical books for Kiss of the Spider Woman and Ragtime. He wrote a number of TV scripts, including "Andre's Mother," for which he won an Emmy Award. He received two Guggenheim Fellowships, a Rockefeller Grant, four Drama Desk Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, two Obie Awards, and three Hull-Warriner Awards from the Dramatists Guild. In 1996 he was inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame. He wrote the libretto for the operas Great Scott and Dead Man Walking, both with music by Jake Heggie.  STEPHEN FLAHERTY is the composer of the Broadway musicals Ragtime (Tony, Drama Desk, OCC Awards, two Grammy nominations), Seussical (Grammy, Drama Desk nominations), Once on This Island (Tony nomination, Olivier Award, Best Musical) and Rocky. Additional Broadway includes Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life (original songs) and Neil Simon's Proposals (incidental music). Stephen has also written four musicals at Lincoln Center Theatre: The Glorious Ones (OCC, Drama Desk nominations), Dessa Rose (OCC, Drama Desk nominations), A Man of No Importance (OCC, Best Musical, Drama Desk nomination) and My Favorite Year. Other theater includes In Your Arms (Old Globe), Little Dancer (Kennedy Center), Lucky Stiff (Playwrights Horizons) and Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein (Chicago's Jefferson Award, Best New Musical.)
